Death toll in Russia's shelling of village in Kherson region rises to three

The number of people killed by Russian shelling of a village in Ukraine's Kherson region has increased to three, including a five-year-old boy.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"According to the investigation, the occupiers shelled a village in the Kherson district at around 16:00 on May 17. One of the shells landed near a store where local residents stayed. A 5-year-old boy and two men sustained fatal injuries," the report said.

Another man and a minor boy were injured.

The Kherson District Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war.

Law enforcement officers are working at the scene to document yet another war crime committed by Russian military personnel.
