Yermak: Ukraine trying to convey its peace formula to Arab countries
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine said this in an interview with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hadath TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Ukraine seeks to tell the countries of the Arab world how it sees the end of this war, how to protect the world countries from similar aggressions, and, in particular, to convey the peace formula proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky," Yermak posted on Telegram.
As noted, "this formula is fully based on the principles of international law and the UN Charter." "We will, by all means, welcome the participation of Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries in the upcoming peace summit, at which leaders from all over the world will be able to find a solution on the basis of President Zelensky's peace formula to end this war in the center of Europe," the post reads.
Yermak also drew attention to the fact that "even in difficult circumstances, Ukraine is concerned with global problems, in particular, the issue of global food security, the solution of which is facilitated by President Zelensky’s Grain Form Ukraine initiative."
In addition, the Head of the President’s Office "praised the role of the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] in the important exchange of prisoners, thanks to which it was possible to release a large number of Ukrainian and foreign citizens." "Ukraine is grateful for the humanitarian aid received from the countries of the Arab world, in particular from Saudi Arabia, especially when the Russian Federation tried for several months to destroy the energy infrastructure with missiles and Iranian-made drone strikes, leaving millions of our citizens without electricity, heat and water supply in the cold season," Yermak said in the interview.
The Head of the President’s Office emphasized that "the Ukrainian side is ready to communicate with countries and leaders who put forward certain proposals for a peaceful settlement and end of the war but does not accept any negotiations on any compromises concerning our territory and our people."
