Man detonated in Kharkiv region, attempting to neutralize explosive device on his own
Oleh Syniuhubov, the Chief of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Today, in the village of Snizhkivka, the Izium district, a 69-year-old man detonated an unknown explosive device on his own property. The device exploded when the man picked it up and attempted to disarm it himself," Syniuhubov informed.
He mentioned that the injured man has been hospitalized.
The head of the Regional Administration emphasized that in case of discovering any suspicious object, it is crucial not to touch, move, or handle it under any circumstances. It is necessary to step away from the finding to a safe distance and inform the State Emergency Service's pyrotechnic specialists or the National Police.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, in April, a man in the village of Snizhkivka in the Kharkiv region stepped on a "Pelyustka" mine in his garden and sustained shrapnel injuries.
