Leadership of Azov Brigade stays at closed security facility in Turkey - wife of Prokopenko
The wife of the head of the Azov Brigade Kateryna Prokopenko said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"They are at a closed security facility. Even we do not know where exactly. They are not at a resort or sea. They have a certain regime, regulated calls, a schedule. They are not being tortured like in Russia, but, nevertheless, they are not completely free," she said.
Prokopenko also noted that Azov's leadership in Turkey has up-to-date information about the Russian-Ukrainian war.
"We all understand that if they had remained in captivity longer in those conditions, there would have been inevitable processes with their condition. I am grateful to everyone involved for getting him (Denys "Redis" Prokopenko - ed.) out of that hell. Now the important task is to return my husband to his homeland," Prokopenko emphasized.
At the same time, she expressed hope that the officers would be returned to Ukraine in the near future.
As reported, May 20 marks the anniversary of the defenders of Mariupol's exit from Azovstal. During this period, about 500 defenders were returned from Russian captivity.
