Maliar: Situation in Bakhmut critical, Ukrainian fighters holding defense in one district

"Heavy battles are ongoing in Bakhmut. The situation is critical. At the same time, our troops hold the defense in the Litak district," Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar posted on Telegram.

According to her, as of now, the Ukrainian defense forces control certain industrial and infrastructure facilities in this district and the private sector.

Maliar's post was published after owner of PMC Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin reported through his press service the "complete capture" of Bakhmut.

As reported, 17 combat engagements with Russian troops took place in Bakhmut direction over the past day. The Ukrainian troops killed 92 and wounded 156 invaders.
