Seoul to study list of Ukraine Army needs
That’s according to South Korea President Yoon Seok-yeol, who spoke at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
"As for supporting Ukraine, last Tuesday Ukraine’s First Lady was in Korea, and I also had a meeting with President Zelensky. During the retreat, Russian troops planted lots of mines, they brought massive losses and destruction. We would like to help as soon as possible. Also today, President Zelensky provided a list regarding weapons, and we will review it," the South Korean leader said in response to a question of whether South Korea plans to provide any weapons to Ukraine in the future.
Scholz visited South Korea right after his Japan trip. This is the first visit of a German chancellor to the Republic of Korea in 30 years.
As reported, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol promised additional non-lethal aid to Ukraine during the first-ever meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This includes demining equipment and ambulance vehicles. Yoon and Zelensky also agreed on the need for bilateral cooperation for the post-war recovery of Ukraine.
