Enemy continues attempts to deplete our air defence - Humeniuk
Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Centre of the Southern Defence Forces, said this on the air of the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.
"Only the enemy knows which direction the enemy is choosing. We can only predict and analyse where and what we consider adequate. This does not always coincide with what the enemy has on its mind, but we understand that they will attack and deplete specific areas of air defence. In particular, by focusing on this area, they will measure from which sides a particular strike can be defended or missed. Given that different weapons are being used, this once again emphasises that the enemy is not resting on our air defence," said Humeniuk.
In her opinion, the enemy is mixing weapons because it is a dispersion of our air defence efforts, as they are diverse. In particular, mobile fire groups are working on the Shahed.
In addition, Humeniuk believes that the enemy "now sees a treacherous link for itself - when the wreckage of a downed aircraft falls on civilian houses, causing fire, destruction, injuries and even death." "This is how the enemy is trying to turn the population of Ukraine against its defence forces. But our people must understand that they need to take cover, even if they have great faith in the air defence forces," the spokeswoman stressed.
As reported earlier, on the night of 22 May, air defence forces destroyed 20 Russian attack drones and four cruise missiles.
