In Donetsk region, enemy fired at vehicle of "White Angels"
That's according to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk region, Ukrinform reports.
As noted, this is the second time in the last ten days that the Russian military has attacked the "White Angels".
The shelling took place on Wednesday, May 24, while leaving New York. An enemy shell exploded behind the car. At the time, there were 11 people in the car: five law enforcement officers and a family - a mother, a grandmother and four children aged almost 2 to 14 years.
The force of the explosion was such that the shrapnel pierced the car's armor. One hit a 14-year-old girl, leaving a scratch, and another got stuck in the police officer's vest.
Without slowing down, law enforcement officers took the people out of the line of fire and brought them to a safe place. On the way, the child was given first aid.
After the family was handed over to the care of social services and volunteers, the police officers underwent a medical examination. According to preliminary data, the police officers suffered concussion.
As Ukrinform reported, on May 15, in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region, a car of the White Angel police unit came under Russian fire. Five law enforcement officers were wounded by enemy fire.
