War update: Russians launch 62 air strikes, open fire with MLRS 54 times

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the General Staff, over the past day, Russia has launched two massive missile and air attacks on Ukraine’s territory. On the night of May 29, 2023, the enemy used Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missile and Iranian-produced Shahed-136/131 suicide drones. Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed 36 out of 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 30 out of 38 Shahed suicide drones.

On the afternoon of May 29, 2023, Russian invaders used the Iskander cruise and ballistic missiles against Kyiv-based civil and critical infrastructure. Ukraine’s Air Force downed 11 of 11 enemy missiles.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched 15 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment clusters. The Ukrainian military destroyed four reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit three Russian ammunition and military equipment clusters, one ammunition depot, three air defense missile systems, and three more important targets.

According to the General Staff, the threat of Russian missile and air attacks is persisting all over Ukraine.

Last night the enemy again attacked Ukraine’s territory, having used Iranian-produced Shahed suicide drones. The details are yet to be updated.

Russian troops continue focusing on attempts to fully seize the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Over the past day, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 27 enemy attacks.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained stable. No enemy offensive groupings were detected.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, Russian troops continue maintaining presence within the areas bordering with Ukraine. The enemy launched an air strike near the Kharkiv region’s Milove, as well as mortar and artillery strikes on the Sumy region’s Seredyna-Buda, Pavlivka, Katerynivka, Shevchenkove and Velyka Pysarivka; the Kharkiv region’s Udy, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Morokhovets, Ternova, Izbytske, Starytsia, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Pletenivka, Tykhe, Vovchanski Khutory, Mala Vovcha, Varvarivka, Budarky, Zemlianky and Chuhunivka.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Kharkiv region’s Masiutivka and Krokhmalne; the Luhansk region’s Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka.. The enemy launched artillery and mortar strikes on the Kharkiv region’s Kolodiazne, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Kyslivka, Hlushkivka, Berestove and Bohuslavka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops did not conduct offensive actions. The enemy launched a missile strike near Lyman, and air strikes near the Luhansk region’s Bilohorivka and the Donetsk region’s Spirne and Siversk, as well as artillery strikes on the Luhansk region’s Nevske, Dibrova and Bilohorivka, and the Donetsk region’s Spirne.

In the Bakhmut directions, Russian invaders did not conduct offensive actions. Russian occupiets launched an air strike near the Donetsk region’s Toretsk. The enemy shelling affected the Donetsk region’s Vasiukivka, Kramatorsk, Tykhonivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Zalizne and New York.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian occupiers did not conduct offensive actions. The enemy launched air strikes near the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka and Vodiane, as well as artillery strikes near the Donetsk region’s Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Karlivka.

In the Marinka direction, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 12 enemy attacks near the city of Marinka. Russian invaders launched an air strike near Heorhiivka, and shelled the Donetsk region’s Marinka and Heorhiivka.

In the Shakhtarske direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near Vuhledar and Prechystivka, and shelled Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka and Shakhtarske.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian occupiers continue holding defense. The enemy launched air strikes near the Zaporizhzhia region’s Huliaipole and Mala Tokmachka, and shelled the Donetsk region’s Vremivka, Zelene Pole and Novopil; the Zaporizhzhia region’s Olhivske, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka and Stepnohirsk; the Kherson region’s Kachkarivka, Mylove, Kozatske, Burhunka, Lvove, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Dniprovske, Kizomys, and the city of Kherson.

The General Staff mentioned that Russian invaders had intensified counter-sabotage measures in the Kherson region’s temporarily occupied city of Skadovsk. Russian occupiers  are carrying out raids across detached houses and apartment blocks , checking personal documents and mobile phones in order to intimidate civilians and reveal those helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
