11 combat engagements recorded in Kupiansk-Lyman sector in past day – Ukraine army spox
Serhii Cherevatyi, the spokesperson for the Eastern Grouping of Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this during the nationwide United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.
“The enemy became more active there [in the Kupiansk-Lyman sector], 11 combat engagements and 632 artillery strikes were recorded in the past day. We repelled all enemy attacks, inflicted losses on them - 58 occupiers were killed, 94 were wounded, and two were captured. Seven tanks, two mortars, a Rapira anti-tank gun, a Lancet kamikaze drone, 11 vehicles were destroyed,” Cherevatyi said.
He added that in this sector, the enemy has been trying to launch attacks for a long time, but without significant results, despite the fact that a "large-scale offensive" was announced.
"It [offensive] is coming to an end, and has reduced to attempts to conduct assault actions in the Bakhmut and Kupiansk-Lyman sectors in our operational zone. In the Bakhmut sector, we see that due to heavy losses, they are forced to regroup, replace the grouping of troops. In the Kupiansk-Lyman sector, there were also attempts to launch attacks, but they had no significant advances, only heavy losses. And all this comes to the exhaustion of the enemy and the defeat of its military potential," Cherevatyi emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, in the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 107 occupiers, injured 126 more, destroyed a number of enemy vehicles and three field ammunition depots.
