Ukraine repels all assault attempts by Russia on Sunday

That’s according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports citing an evening update.

In total, during the day, Ukraine’s Air Force delivered 10 strikes on enemy manpower and equipment clusters.

On their part, rocket and artillery units hit two Russian equipment clusters, an ammunition depot, two anti-aircraft missile systems, and two e-warfare systems.

Ukrainian defenders also destroyed a reconnaissance drone.

In total, during the day, the enemy forces carried out seven missile and 25 air strikes and about 20 attacks involving multiple rocket launchers on the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and populated areas. There are victims among the civilian population. A number of rivate residential buildings, educational facilities, and other objects of civilian and administrative infrastructure were damaged.

It is emphasized that the further missile and air strikes targeting the entire territory of Ukraine remain highly likely.

According to the General Staff, the operational situation has undergone no significant changes in the Volyn and Polissia directions, where no signs of Russian offensive groups being formed have been detected.

Russia continues to maintain its military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine on the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes. Today, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to deploy a sabotage group across the state border of Ukraine in the area of the village of Zelene, Kharkiv region.

The invaders launched a missile attack in the Vovchansk district, and air strikes - at the Ivashki, Ohirtseve, and Hatyshche districts of Kharkiv region. Russian mortars and artillery shelled Karpovychi of Chernihiv region, Znob-Novhorodsk, Shevchenko, Brusky, Oleksandrivka, Sadky, Basivka, and Hrabovske in Sumy region, as well as Ivashky, Udy, Chervona Zorya, Hoptivka, Krasne, Zelene, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Vovchansk, Karaichne, Budarky, and Chuhunivka of Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army carried out offensive actions near Novoselivske, Luhansk region, achieving no gains. Russian artillery and mortars fired at Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dovhenke, Kutkivka, Dvorichne, Zapadne, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, and Berestovka in Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, the invaders carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. Enemy artillery strikes were recorded in the areas of settlements located along the contact line, in particular Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, Verkhnyokamyanske, Torske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russians carried out offensive actions in the Ivanove area – with no gains. The invaders attacked the Vasyutinske, Toretsk, and Severne in Donetsk region employing their air force.

The districts of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Diliivka, and New York of Donetsk region were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army carried out no offensive moves, instead launching an air strike in the Avdiivka area, artillery fired on the Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka districts of Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, during the current day, the Russian army conducted offensive operations in the Maryinka area. Defenders repelled all 16 enemy attacks. The invaders also carried out an airstrike targeting the town. Hostre, Maryinka, and Pobieda of Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

On the Shakhtarske direction, the Russians shelled settlements bordering the combat line, in particular, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novoukrainka in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops continue to conduct defensive operations. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the Beryslav and Vesele regions of Kherson region.

Russian artillery hit Vilne Pole, Zelene Pole, Novopil, and Temyrivka in Donetsk region, Olhivske, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Stepove, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region, Kherson, Kozatske, Tyahinka, Ivanivka, Dniprovske, and Kizomys in Kherson region.

According to the General Staff, the Russian army continues to suffer heavy manpower losses. It was established that over the past week, about 500 people from among the Russian former convicts arrived as reinforcement to one of the enemy units operating in the temporarily captured territory of Kharkiv region.

Amid the fire damage the Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted on the invaders’ positions, about a hundred people from the newly arrived reinforcements suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity, including non-life-threatening ones. About 80 more soldiers fled from their positions after the attack.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the night of Sunday, June 4, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with Kh-101/Kh-555 air-based cruise missiles and Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 one-way attack drones.

Defense forces destroyed four out of six missiles and six out of eight attack drones, the General Staff said in an update.
