Ukrainian defenders have recaptured the village of Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia region, from Russian forces.

The Zaporizhzhia Separate Brigade of Territorial Defense announced this on its Facebook page, according to Ukrinform.

"On June 4, 2023, as part of a defensive operation, the village of Novodarivka was liberated from the occupiers with the joint actions of a mechanized unit and a combined unit of the Zaporizhzhia Separate Brigade of Territorial Defense," the post reads.

Multiple attempts by enemy forces to return the settlement to their control, which lasted several days, were unsuccessful, the brigade said.

Valerii Shershen, the spokesman for Ukraine's Tavriia military sector, said on June 11 that near Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces had blown up a dam, which led to flooding along the banks of the Mokri Yaly River.

At the same time, Shershen said this does not prevent Ukrainian forces from conducting offensive operations in the Tavriia sector.
