British Ambassador Melinda Simmons has admitted that even when she is outside of Ukraine, she is frightened by loud noises after more than a month of almost daily Russian missile attacks on Kyiv.
Simmons shared her feelings on Twitter, Ukrinform reported.
“I am in UK for some meetings & how it feels to not be in Ukraine after living through nightly Russian airstrikes is beyond words. A motorbike backfires and hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Any kind of bang and my heart races,” she wrote.
Earlier, British Ambassador Melinda Simmons regularly shared her personal impressions on social media after Russia's nighttime missile attacks on Kyiv.
As reported, the Russian military attacked the Ukrainian capital 17 times in May. Air defense forces shot down 7 Russian Kinzhal airborne ballistic missiles, 13 Iskander ballistic missiles, 65 X-101, X-555, and Kalibr cruise missiles, and 169 drones over Kyiv.
