Ukrainian military captures Russian FSB operative
The SBU reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
It is noted that two Russian prisoners were simultaneously interrogated by military counterintelligence operatives from the Security Service of Ukraine. One of them is a machine gunner with a separate company of the FSB commandant's office, who headed the “blocking squad.”
"The FSB guy told us briefly about his military duties: ‘I stood on the second line and did not allow the Z-assault forces to retreat. The order was to fire to kill in case they retreat," the SBU noted.
And the second one is precisely the "Z-assault" unit soldier, who was afraid that his own comrades would kill him on the second line. Therefore, he surrendered to the Ukrainian troops.
"After arriving there (at the position – ed.), we didn’t get any instructions, they told us to get into the bush and hide from the ‘birds.’ These are quadcopters. In case we decided to retreat, we were told that there are blocking units behind us... They would shoot anyone fleeing," he said.
The practice of using blocking units by the Russians was once again confirmed by the comms interception obtained by the SBU.
"We are holding a tight defense: all machine gunners, grenade launcher operators... mortars need to be brought in. Mavic drones will monitor everything. Did you copy? The ‘Z’ is fully at your disposal. They have no option to retreat, only advance. If anything happens, you’re allowed to take them down. That’s my responsibility," the SBU quotes the order received by the commander of one of the blocking units on the "hot" spot of the front line.
"Judging by the latest developments at the front, the number of "cannon fodder" and blocking units will decrease, but the number of Russian prisoners captured by Ukrainian defenders will increase!" noted the SBU.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the SBU has pressed charges against the commander of the Russian Guards unit, who executed Ukrainian prisoners of war for refusing to address him in Russian.
