Russia launches cruise missiles, Shahed UAVs at Ukraine: air defenses intercept 11 targets
This was announced in a morning update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.
"Tonight, the Russian Federation launched yet another attack on Ukraine. Tentatively, the enemy used 14 Kh-101/555 cruise missiles, 10 of which were downed by our air defenses. The strike also involved four Shaheds, one of which was destroyed by our defenders," the report said.
Kryvyi Rih. A five-storey building and other civilian infrastructure objects were hit. Unfortunately, there are people affected, remaining in extremely serious condition. The information is being verified.
Over the past day, the Russian occupiers fired two Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles on residential buildings in Kharkiv region. In addition, the enemy carried out 31 airstrikes and fired 47 rocket salvos at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Certain civilian infrastructure was destroyed. In particular, private homes were destroyed as a result of the shelling of Bilopillia, Sumy region, and Shevchenko, Kharkiv region. Also, Russian terrorists dropped three guided aerial bombs on the town of Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region, where a civilian was killed and a number of private homes were destroyed. As a result of the airstrike on Avdiivka, civilians were wounded and a local art center and several apartment blocks were hit.
It is highly likely that Russia will launch more missile and air strikes targeting the entire territory of Ukraine.
The enemy continues to focus their main efforts on attempts to fully occupy Ukraine’s Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where heavy fighting continues. Over the past day, 26 combat clashes took place in the said sector of the front.
On the Volyn and Polissia axes, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of enemy offensive groups being formed were detected. Separate units of the Russian armed forces remain at the Belarusian training grounds.
In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy maintains their military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. Russian mortars and artillery attacked the settlements of Tymonovychi and Khotiivka in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Tovstodubove, Sopych, Zarutske, Hirky, Bilopilllia, Yunakivka, Zapsilia and Stepok in Sumy region, as well as Ivashky, Veterynarne, Vysoka Yaruha, Strelecha, Morokhovets, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, and Budarky in Kharkiv region.
In the direction of Kupiansk, the enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Mylove and Kislivka in Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske in Luhansk region. Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Lyman Pershyi, Kislivka, Tabaivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske in Luhansk region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Lyman axis, the enemy made unsuccessful offensive moves in the districts of Vesele in Kharkiv region and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region. Airstrikes hit the settlements of Yampil, Spirne, and Vesele. Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, and Yampolivka, Torske, Dibrova, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region were affected by artillery fire.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of Bila Hora. The areas near Vasiukivka, Blahodatne, Novomarkove, Kalynivka, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, Druzhba, Toretsk, Pivdenne, and Sukha Balka in Donetsk region were hit by enemy artillery.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy was on the offensive, achieving no gains. Airstrikes hit the Avdiivka and Severne districts. Russian artillery shelled Keramik, Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Netaylove, Karlivka, and Nevelske in Donetsk region.
In the Marinka direction, Ukraine’s defenders repelled all 14 enemy attacks. The Russians conducted a number of airstrikes in the districts of Staromykhailivka and Krasnohorivka. At the same time, artillery shelled Marinka, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region.
In the direction of Shakhtarske, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations toward Blahodatne. Airstrikes hit the Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarske, Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, and Blahodatne districts in Donetsk region. The settlements of Bohoyavlenka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region were subjected to shelling.
The enemy is on the defensive in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. An airstrike hit the Orikhiv district. Artillery shelled Vremivka, Zelene Pole and Novopil in Donetsk region; Levadne, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Zherebianky, Lobkove, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region; Novoberyslav, Vesele, Kozatske, Chornobayivka, Dniprovske, Yantarne, Berehove, and Kizomys in Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson.
The Russian occupation authorities are forcibly imposing Russian passports on Ukrainian citizens in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. The invaders threaten the parents that their children will not get school graduation certificates should they snub Russian citizenship.
In Kherson region, Russian invaders are actively looting flooded settlements. Under the pretext of delivering humanitarian aid, empty trucks arrive in Hola Prystan, where Russian servicemen load them with looted goods – household appliances, furniture, and other property.
Over the past day, Ukraine’s Air Force struck nine times Russia’s manpower clusters and four anti-aircraft missile complexes.
Also, Ukraine’s forces downed a Russian Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter and an Orlan-10 operational-tactical UAV.
Rocket and artillery units hit three Russian command and control points, two anti-aircraft missile systems, a manpower cluster, and three artillery units in firing positions.
