Enemy used Kh-101, Kh-555 air-launched missiles to hit Kryvyi Rih
"Kh-101 and Kh-555 air-launched missiles [were used to attack Kryvyi Rih], as we reported. Initially, eight Tu-95 strategic aircraft in the Caspian Sea area were involved, they usually launch their missiles from there. Well, these missiles flew to the territory of Ukraine at night, an air raid alarm went off. Unfortunately, there are such consequences. It’s difficult to realize that the occupier can hit peaceful houses with such a terrible weapon in a densely populated city. In the first waves of the attack, it was possible to shoot down 10 cruise missiles, and already in the morning, the enemy launched again from the area of the Caspian Sea. Three strategic bombers were spotted in the sky, a second wave of attacks was expected, however, only one missile reached the territory of our state and was destroyed around 07:00 by our air defense," Yuriy Ihnat, Spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during the United News nationwide telethon.
He noted that this is another terrorist act by the Russians, and, unfortunately, Ukraine lacks air defense equipment to counter the enemy's missile attacks. Ihnat once again noted that Ukraine urgently needs aircraft to protect the territory of Ukraine.
In addition, the spokesman emphasized that Russian terrorists exhaust the Ukrainian air defense system and adjust their strikes.
"They exhaust air defense for a reason, they want to do everything possible to use those kamikaze drones to operate in a dosed manner in various areas of the front. Not so many kamikaze drones flew today, they were shot down in Kharkiv region. Therefore, the enemy tries to exhaust our air defense so that we spend ammunition on relatively cheap UAVs, and accordingly, the enemy discovers the locations of our anti-aircraft missile systems in order to adjust their actions and lay some other routes in the next strikes. Now the shelling is regular, using all types of weapons that the enemy can afford," Ihnat said.
As reported, during yet another missile attack on the night of June 13, the enemy launched 14 cruise missiles, 11 of which were destroyed by Ukraine’s air defense forces. One combat drone was downed also.
As of 09:30, six people were killed in a Russian missile attack on Kryvyi Rih.
