44 settlements remain flooded in Kherson region
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported this in a message on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"According to the current situation. The water is currently at two meters four centimeters. 44 settlements remain flooded, 27 on the right bank and 17 on the temporarily occupied left bank," noted Prokudin.
He added that the area of flooded agricultural land has decreased by 600 hectares in the de-occupied territories. As of this morning, 1,923 houses on the right bank remain under water, which is 150 less than the night before.
As soon as the water recedes, restoration work will begin - demining, surveying, cleaning up the areas that were previously under water, Prokudin said.
As Ukrinform reported, on June 14, as of 2:30 p.m., the average level of flooding in the Kherson region was two meters, 45 settlements remained flooded as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, including 28 on the right bank of the Dnipro and 17 on the left, according to the infographic, 3103 houses were flooded on the right bank.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the right-bank part of the Kherson region, including the city of Kherson. The part of the region located on the left bank of the Dnipro River was temporarily occupied by Russian troops.
At night on June 6, the Russian army blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
