Russians injured 1,024 children in Ukraine since war-start
“As of the morning of June 17, 2023, more than 1,512 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 488 children were killed and more than 1,024 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office wrote on Telegram.
It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 464, Kharkiv region - 284, Kyiv region - 129, Kherson region - 111, Zaporizhzhia region – 91, Mykolaiv region - 89, Dnipropetrovsk region – 81, Chernihiv region – 71, and Luhansk region – 67.
On June 16, Russian attacks injured two children aged 4 and 12 in the village of Stari Petrivtsi, Kyiv region.
On the same day, 15, 16, and 11-year-old children were injured in enemy artillery shelling of Kherson.
As reported by Ukrinform, three children - a 15-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl - were injured in Russia’s shelling of Kherson. In total, 23 people were injured. The police launched criminal proceedings over another massive shelling.
