As the UK Ministry of Defence, referring to intelligence data, posted on Twitter, heavy fighting has continued in recent days, with the most intense combat focused in Zaporizhzhia region, western Donetsk region, and around Bakhmut.
“In all these areas, Ukraine continues to pursue offensive operations and has made small advances,” the report reads.
As noted, Russian forces often conduct relatively effective defensive operations in the south.
“Both sides are suffering high casualties, with Russian losses likely the highest since the peak of the battle for Bakhmut in March,” the intelligence update reads.
