Utility workers from 13 Ukrainian regions help tackle aftermath of Kakhovka dam destruction

In Kherson region, utility workers from 13 regions of Ukraine are helping the region to tackle the consequences of the Kakhovka HPP destruction.

This was stated by Oleksiy Kuleba, the deputy head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.

"Side by side we are tackling the consequences of Russian terror in Kherson region. Rescuers, doctors, volunteers from all over the country are working here. Also, 200 specialists of utility enterprises from 13 regions of Ukraine have arrived in Kherson region. Water is pumped out, roads are cleaned of silt, garbage is removed," Kuleba said.

In addition, according to him, the regions have transferred to Kherson region 30 units of the necessary equipment: dump trucks, loaders, excavators, tractors, garbage trucks, etc.

According to him, specialists and utility equipment arrived from Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Poltava, Riven, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy region and Bukovyna.

As reported, on the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam. In Kherson region, the evacuation of the population from the areas affected by flooding is ongoing.
