Russia focuses main efforts on four directions, 17 combat engagements recorded – General Staff

The Russian forces continue to focus their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions - 17 combat engagements have been recorded there in the past 24 hours.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its evening update on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions, fierce battles are ongoing. In the past 24 hours, 17 combat engagements have been recorded.

In the Lyman direction, Russia conducted offensive operations in the area of Spirne, Luhansk region, but had no success. At the same time, the invaders launched airstrikes on the settlements of Bilohorivka and Myrne in Luhansk region. Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka of Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Rozdolivka, and Spirne of Donetsk region came under enemy shelling.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka. The Russian forces launched airstrikes on the settlements of Ivanivske, Pivnichne, Bila Hora, and Toretsk. The areas of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Bohdanivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Ozarianivka, Bila Hora, Kostiantynivka, and Pivnichne of Donetsk region came under enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy launched an air strike on Avdiivka. The areas of Keramik, Novokalynove, Stepove, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Karlivka, Berdychi, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, and Sieverne of Donetsk region were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian defenders repelled all Russian attacks on Marinka area. Russia launched an airstrike on that area. Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Maksymilianivka, and Illinka settlements in Donetsk region came under enemy artillery shelling.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of Novoselivske, Luhansk region. The Russian forces launched an airstrike on Kyslivka in Kharkiv region. Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, and Berestove of Kharkiv region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

As reported, on June 17, the General Staff said that 22 combat clashes had been recorded in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions.
