Water level drops by 9 cm in Kherson region

That's according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Kherson region: as of 15:00 on June 20, the water level is at 0.3 m (since the beginning of the day, the level has decreased by 9 cm). 3 settlements (595 houses) on the right bank of the Dnipro River remain flooded," the report says.

It is noted that since the beginning of the day, rescuers have pumped out more than 0.29 thousand tons of water from 223 basements and houses in Kherson region, and since the beginning of the work - more than 156.2 thousand tons from 795 houses and basements. During this time, the State Emergency Service has delivered more than 29 tons of water to people in Kherson region, and 518 tons since the beginning of the work.

As reported, on the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The evacuation of the population from dangerous places at risk of flooding has begun in the Kherson region. Law enforcement officers have opened an investigation into the occupiers' explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant under the article "ecocide."

Ukrhydroenergo said that Kakhovka HPP was completely destroyed and cannot be restored.
