Enemy increases intensity of shelling in Dnipro direction – Humeniuk
"In Dnipro direction, in contrast to Zaporizhzhia direction, the activity of the defense forces has been somewhat diminished in geographical advancement, but the activity of counter-battery combat has greatly increased. We continue to destroy the enemy's capabilities while it redeploys after the high water has receded... Now they have to redo maps of the minefields they created as the high water blew them up," Nataliya Humeniuk, head of the joint press center of the Operational Command "South", told a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine–Ukrinform.
She noted that the enemy tries to intensify shelling, 75 strikes were recorded over the past day, which corresponds to the numbers before the Kakhovka HPP explosion.
"If, after the water rose, they had to retreat to a certain distance – up to 15 km in some areas – and reduce the intensity of the fire, they gradually return to the same indicators," the spokesperson noted.
As reported, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar confirmed on June 19 that the defense forces have already liberated eight settlements in the south: Novodarivka, Levadne, Storozheve, Makarivka, Blahodatne, Lobkove, Neskuchne, Pyatykhatky.
