Berdiansk authorities confirm death of two teenagers killed by Russians
"Unfortunately, the deaths of Tihran Ohannisian and Mykyta Khanhanov have been confirmed. They were killed," the Berdiansk Town Military Administration posted on Telegram.
The town authorities urged to refrain from making statements regarding the killing of the teenagers for now: "Their relatives are still in the temporarily occupied territory, and premature statements may harm their safety and pose a threat to their lives."
In turn, Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, said during the United News telethon that once again no international institution can do anything about the Russian Federation which behaves like a terrorist.
"This country behaves like a terrorist, does not pay attention to any international conventions, international humanitarian law. They once again showed that they can kill two Ukrainian children and pretend that they will get away with it," the Ombudsman emphasized.
He added that Ukraine officially appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross to make Russia urgently hand over the bodies of the dead teenagers. But, according to him, there is no official answer from the ICRC.
"But their answer is always the same – the Russian side didn't let us in, so we couldn't fulfill our mandate. We do not see a great desire to influence the Russians so that they do allow representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross to visit our citizens, thousands of whom are illegally detained by the Russians in Russian camps," Lubinets emphasized.
The Ombudsman noted that he informed international organizations about this situation.
Earlier it was reported that the invaders announced the "liquidation of two pro-Ukrainian terrorists" in occupied Berdiansk. One of them is 16-year-old Tihran Ohannisian and the second person killed was Mykyta Khanhanov.
The last video recorded by Tihran was posted online. On it, the boy says: "That's all guys, it’s death. Goodbye. Glory to Ukraine." Then the video ends abruptly.
The occupiers abducted Tihran Ohannisian back in September 2022. He and another teenager, Mykyta Khanhanov, were accused of terrorism and faced 20 years of imprisonment.
In June of this year, the European Parliament called on the Russian authorities to stop the trial against the minors and allow them to leave for Ukraine-controlled territory.
