Russia closes criminal case on armed rebellion of "Wagner" PMC
That's according to the Interfax news agency, citing the FSB Public Relations Center, Ukrinform reports.
"During the investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Investigative Department of the FSB of the Russian Federation on June 23 this year under Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the fact of armed rebellion, it was found that its participants on June 24 stopped actions directly aimed at committing a crime," the special service noted.
Thus, taking into account this and other circumstances, the FSB investigative body issued a decision on June 27 to terminate the criminal case.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that preparations are underway to transfer heavy military equipment from the "Wagner" PMC to the operating units of the Russian Armed Forces.
As reported, the case of military rebellion against the founder of the "Wagner" PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, was opened on June 23, after he announced a "march of justice" in which the PMC intended to reach Moscow.
