Russian army shells school in Donetsk region, two killed
That's according to the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrinform reports.
Investigators say that on June 30, at about 11:20 a.m., Russian troops allegedly attacked the village of Serhiivka, Pokrovsk district, with multiple rocket launchers.
The hit occurred on the territory of a local school. At the time of the attack, there were 12 people inside the school - representatives of the administration, teachers and technical staff.
The shelling killed a primary school teacher and the chief accountant. Six other staff members - four men and two women - were injured.
They were all hospitalized with mine-blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.
A part of the school building was almost destroyed: classrooms, offices and other premises were smashed, furniture and school equipment were smashed.
Under the procedural control of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into the criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated.
Prosecutors, law enforcement officers and rescuers continue to work at the site of the attack.
As Ukrinform reported, Russian troops shelled nine regions of Ukraine over the past day, causing deaths and injuries.
