Ukraine’s Armed Forces hit 24 enemy artillery units in firing positions – General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"In the past day, the enemy launched eight missile attacks and 58 air strikes, carried out more than 50 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops, military and civilian infrastructure facilities in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. In particular, an Iskander-K missile struck a school in Serhiivka, Donetsk region, killing two civilians and wounding six more, while the school was completely destroyed. As a result of shelling by the Russian occupiers of a residential building in Antonivka, Kherson region, a family with a child was injured. In total, about 30 civilian residential buildings were damaged,” the report says.

The probability of further missile attacks and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains very high, the General Staff warns.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, and Marinka directions, heavy fighting continues. Over the course of the past day, 22 combat engagements took place.

In the Lyman direction, the Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Serebrianka forestry area. Air strikes were recorded in the districts of Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Bilohorivka of Luhansk region and Torske, Dibrova, Verkhniokamianske, Rozdolivka and Berestove of Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Bohdanivka and Khromove. The Russian forces launched air strikes on Toretsk and New York districts of Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Markove, Ivanivske, Oleksandro-Shultyne and Ozarianivka of Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks on the Marinka area. At the same time, the enemy launched an air strike near this city. About 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Heorhiivka, and Pobieda of Donetsk region, came under artillery shelling.

"Over the past 24 hours, the aircraft of the defense forces launched 12 strikes on enemy manpower clusters, as well as one strike targeting an anti-aircraft missile system. Over the past 24 hours, the rocket forces and artillery struck one command post, six manpower, weapons and military equipment clusters, three ammunition depots, 24 artillery units in firing positions and an EW station of the enemy," the General Staff said.

As reported, since February 24, 2022, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have eliminated about 228,340 Russian invaders.
