Ukrainian forces advancing in Berdiansk and Melitopol directions, battles raging - Maliar

Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"South. With heavy battles, but gradually we are advancing in the Berdiansk and Melitopol directions. Our troops are facing intense enemy resistance, remote mining, redeployment of reserves, but persistently and unceasingly we are creating conditions for the fastest possible movement forward," she wrote.

Maliar noted that fierce battles are raging along the front line.

In the east of Ukraine, the Russian forces are advancing in the Avdiivka, Marinka, and Lyman directions.

"It's hot everywhere now," added the deputy defense minister.

The Russian army also moved forward in the Svatove direction. Heave battles are ongoing there, the aggressor attacks Bilohorivka and Serebrianka. "The situation is quite difficult," Maliar noted.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are advancing and have partial success on the southern flank.

Fighting continues on the northern flank of the Bakhmut direction. The Russians redeployed two air assault regiments there.

As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to July 2, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 229,660 Russian invaders, including 790 occupiers in the past 24 hours.
