Number of children injured by Russian aggression in Ukraine rises to 1,048

As a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression, 494 children have been killed and 1,048 more have been injured in Ukraine.

“As of the morning of July 5, 2023, more than 1,543 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 494 children were killed and more than 1,048 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said in a post on Telegram.

It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 472, Kharkiv region - 297, Kyiv region - 129, Kherson region - 113, Zaporizhzhia region – 91, Mykolaiv region - 89, Dnipropetrovsk region – 83, Chernihiv region – 71, and Luhansk region – 67.

On July 4, 12 children aged from three months to 17 years received injuries of varying degrees of severity in Russia’s shelling of Pervomaiske, Kharkiv region.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the afternoon of July 4, the Russian army struck Pervomaiske with an Iskander missile, injuring 43 people, including 12 children.
