Hromov: Iran, Belarus, DPRK provide most military assistance to Russia

Brigadier General Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"Countries such as Iran, Belarus, and North Korea remain the leaders in assisting the Russian Federation. In addition, some post-Soviet countries contribute to the importation of high-tech components for the manufacture of modern weapons and military equipment into the territory of the Russian Federation," Hromov said.

At the same time, he said, it is possible that cooperation between the armed forces of Russia and the People's Republic of China will continue. "On the one hand, a weakened Russia is a guarantee of Moscow's pliability to Chinese policy, that is, the framework of Russia's international and military activity will meet China's interests. On the other hand, Beijing is interested in studying the combat experience of the Russian army, which it gained in confrontation with Western systems and weapons," the brigadier general explained.

At the same time, Hromov emphasized that China has primarily ambitious economic interests both in the Americas and in Africa. "In such circumstances, the improvement of relations between China and the United States may slow down the pace of Sino-Russian military cooperation," the deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces added.

As reported, Iran is continuing to provide weapons to the Russian Federation. In this regard, Ukraine hopes that the international community will put pressure on Iran to stop these supplies.
