UK, Spain against Ukraine's use of cluster munitions
That's according to Sky News, Ukrinform reports.
The prime minister highlighted that the UK was one of 123 signatories of a convention banning use of cluster munitions.
"The UK is signatory to a convention which prohibits the production or use of cluster munitions and discourages their use," Sunak said.
At the same time, he said that the UK would continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
"We will continue to do our part to support Ukraine against Russia's illegal and unprovoked invasion, but we've done that by providing heavy battle tanks and most recently long-range weapons, and hopefully all countries can continue to support Ukraine," he said.
Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles, in turn, said that cluster munitions could not be delivered to Ukraine "under any circumstances."
"No to cluster bombs and yes to the legitimate defense of Ukraine, which we understand should not be carried out with cluster bombs," she said.
The U.S. Department of Defense officially announced the allocation of a new military aid package to Ukraine worth $800 million, which includes cluster munitions.
