Russian aggression has killed 494 children in Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale armed invasion of Ukraine, 494 children have been killed and 1,051 more have been injured in the country.

“As of the morning of July 9, 2023, according to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 494 children were killed and more than 1,051 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said in a post on Telegram.

It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 472, Kharkiv region - 297, Kyiv region - 129, Kherson region - 115, Zaporizhzhia region – 91, Mykolaiv region - 89, Dnipropetrovsk region – 83, Chernihiv region – 71, and Luhansk region – 67.

As reported, the Russian Federation launched an invasion of Ukraine in 2014. Then the aggressor managed to seize Crimea, as well as part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, including the regional centers. On February 24, 2022, Russia began a new stage of the war against Ukraine - a full-scale invasion.
