Four killed as Russians drop aerial bomb on humanitarian aid point in Orikhiv
The relevant statement was made by Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Head Yurii Malashko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Rashists committed a war crime in the frontline city of Orikhiv, having dropped a guided bomb while humanitarian aid was being delivered in a residential area. Four people were killed at the scene: three women, aged 43, 45 and 47, and a man, 47,” the report states.
Eleven civilians were taken to hospital with injuries of various severity levels.
According to the regional police, over 15 residents ended up trapped under the rubble.
“Russians launched an aimed air strike at a time when local residents came to the school to receive humanitarian aid: food and basic necessities. Over 15 people, who were inside and nearby outside, ended up trapped under the rubble of the destroyed institution. Additionally, residential buildings and other civil infrastructure objects situated close to the impact location were damaged,” the police noted.
Law enforcement officers, rescuers, military medics and concerned citizens contributed to dismantling works at the scene. The rescue operation continues.
Generally, on July 9, 2023, Russian troops launched 36 aimed attacks on 10 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.
