Training for Ukrainian volunteer firefighters begins in Poland
That's according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"On July 10, the training center of the Voivodeship Command of the State Fire Service of the Republic of Poland in Olsztyn hosted the grand opening of a course for ten volunteer firefighters from Rivne region. The event was attended by the Chief Commandant of the State Fire Service of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Bartkowiak," the statement reads.
The course aims to provide knowledge and skills related to fire protection and firefighting.
The SES noted that thanks to such initiatives, volunteers from Ukraine have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills that will serve to protect people and property. At the same time, such meetings allow for the exchange of experience between Polish and Ukrainian volunteer groups, which contributes to improving fire safety in the communities of both countries.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian rescuers received nine high-powered fire pumps from their Polish colleagues in July.
