The U.S. Department of State has issued a statement on 500 days of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine, stressing that the United States will continue to unite allies and partners in order to achieve a just peace in Ukraine.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said this at a briefing in Washington on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"In the weeks and months ahead, the United States will continue to work with Ukraine, with our allies and partners, and with any and all stakeholders dedicated to supporting a just and lasting peace," he said.

He recalled how since the beginning of the large-scale invasion, Russian forces have attacked homes, schools, playgrounds, hospitals, shopping malls, nuclear facilities and other infrastructure in Ukraine.

"Members of Russian forces and their proxies have committed international crimes, such as the unlawful transfer of Ukrainian civilians, including children, to Russia as part of its so-called 'filtration operations'," Miller said.

He also noted that Russia had repeatedly ordered attacks on Ukraine's energy grid, seized its nuclear energy facilities and engaged irresponsibly in nuclear saber-rattling, destroying arable land and preventing Ukrainians from exporting agricultural products.

"We cannot cave to Russian aggression or accept its brazen attempts to redraw borders by force. For 500 days, we have stood firmly united with Ukraine, and we will continue to do for as long as it takes," he said.
