Russia threatens use of cluster bombs in Ukraine

Russia can use its significant stockpile of cluster bombs in Ukraine if they are deployed against Russian forces.
That's according to Reuters, which refers to Vladimir Putin's interview with Russian media outlets, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"President Vladimir Putin said Russia had a 'sufficient stockpile' of cluster bombs and reserved the right to use them if such munitions, the use of which he said he regarded as a crime, were deployed against Russian forces in Ukraine," the article reads.
According to Putin, Russia allegedly "has not yet used this weapon" in the war in Ukraine, which has been banned in more than a hundred countries.
However, according to human rights defenders in Ukraine, cluster munitions have already been used on the battlefield more than once.
