More than 400 settlements in Ukraine remain without electricity due to hostilities and bad weather. Power engineers continue restoration work where possible.

That's according to NPC Ukrenergo on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Due to the hostilities, 397 settlements in the frontline and border regions remain without electricity. As a result of shelling, there are damages in the networks in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. Restoration works are being carried out with the permission of the military. Due to the bad weather, there were power outages in 4 settlements in Chernivtsi region," the statement said.

The company clarified that all types of power plants are operating in the power system. Also, one of the nuclear power units has come out of scheduled repairs and continues to gain its capacity.

"Active restoration work continues wherever possible. Scheduled repairs at nuclear power units continue. Therefore, the power system has a limited number of units that can generate electricity, especially to cover the evening maximum consumption," the NPC added.
