Authorities ready to organize prompt evacuation of people in case of terrorist attack at ZNPP - Vereshchuk
Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, said this in a commentary to Ukrinform.
"I really want to believe that this will not happen, but if it does, we must be ready and we are ready (to quickly organize the evacuation of people - ed.). With the experience of 2022, we managed to work out all the evacuation plans. Last month, we held a training exercise under the leadership of Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. The results showed that everything was worked out properly. We have an understanding of what to do," said Vereshchuk.
As reported, on March 4, 2022, Russians occupied ZNPP. On June 22, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Russia's plans to stage a terrorist attack at the plant.
At the end of June 2023, large-scale exercises of emergency services to overcome the consequences of a possible terrorist attack on ZNPP were held in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro regions.
