War update: Ukraine Air Force 17 times strikes enemy positions in last day
That’s according to a morning summary by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, reports Ukrinform.
"Also, our defenders destroyed 11 reconnaissance UAVs of operational-tactical level. During the past day, rocket and artillery forces hit two enemy manpower, weapons, and equipment clusters, five artillery guns in firing positions, and an electronic warfare system," the report says.
The Ukrainian Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, entrenching in the positions gained.
The military also states that the enemy is focusing its main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions where over 40 combat clashes took place in the past day.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russians launched 16 missile strikes, more than 20 airstrikes, and 50 rocket salvos on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, civilians, including children, have been killed and injured, grain storage sites in the south of Ukraine and industrial facilities have been destroyed and damaged, more than 70 civilian residential buildings and other infrastructure objects have been hit.
It is highly likely that the Russians will be launching more missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine.
On the Volyn and Polissia axes, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of an enemy offensive grouping being formed were detected.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes, Russian mortars and artillery hit over m 15 settlements, including Honcharivske in Chernihiv region; Stukalyvka, Bilovody, Stepne, Morozova Dolyna of Sumy Region, and Hatishche, Vovchanski Khutory, Bochkove, Kruhle and Budarky in Kharkiv Region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers are firmly holding their defense. Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Kupiansk, Novoosynove, and Synkivka of Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy ran unsuccessful offensive missions in the areas of Nadia, Makiivka, and Nevske in Luhansk region, and Serebryansky Forest and Dibrova in Donetsk region. They also carried out airstrikes in the Serebryansky Forest, Spirne, and Dibrova areas of Donetsk region. The settlements of Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.
In the Bakhmut direction, under heavy enemy artillery fire, Ukraine’s defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks in the Hryhorivka area, while more than 15 settlements were affected by enemy artillery shelling, including Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultine, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, Druzhba, and New York of Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukraine successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in the Pervomaiske area of Donetsk region. The enemy launched airstrikes in the Avdiivka area. At the same time, Russian artillery shelled of more than 15 settlements, including Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske of Donetsk region.
In the Marinka direction, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Marinka. The enemy shelled over 15 settlements, including Marinka, Heorhiyivka, Maksimilianivka, Hostre, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy went for fruitless offensive operations in the Novomykhailivka and Blahodatne districts of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were shelled. Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Neskuchne, and Blahodatne came under fire.
On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian troops. The Russians carried out an airstrike in the Kozatske district, Kherson region. Over 30 settlements, including Novodarivka, Malynivka, Chervone, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Lobkove, and Piatykhatky of Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery fire; as were Dmytrivka, Tyahinka, Sadove, Dniprovske, and Antonivka of Kherson region, the city of Kherson, as well as Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region.
According to Ukraine’s intelligence soldiers fighting as part of a Russian motorized rifle regiment in the Pershotravnevo region of Luhansk region are experiencing a low level of morale. It was established that the main factors affecting them include large manpower losses, untimely provision of ammunition, and uncertainty regarding rotation. The number of those willing to desert from their units and withdraw from the areas of hostilities to the Russian Federation is increasing.
