Ukraine brigade holds memorial for U.S. volunteer soldier killed on Bakhmut battlefield
That's according to the 114th Territorial Defense Brigade press service, Ukrinform reports.
“Brother in arms, today your body is already on the way to America, but your warrior spirit is with us forever! To give one's life is the greatest feat, but Nick's life was filled with small daily feats of self-sacrifice and service to a greater purpose,” the 114th Territorial Defense Brigade wrote on Facebook, posting a video of the event.
“Thanks to the American people for such brave heroes. Thanks to Nick's compatriots, who continue the cause of the fallen Hero, strengthening our moment, keeping in line with us!” the posting reads. “We remember their contribution and preserve their spirit, sharing their story of bravery and supreme sacrifice.”
Memo. Nicholas Maimer, retired U.S. Army Special Forces soldier, was tragically killed in action in May 2023 during a combat deployment with the 135th Territorial Defense Battalion in Bakhmut, Ukraine, fighting against Russia’s Wagner Group.
