Syrskyi: Ukrainian Armed Forces hold all their positions in Kupyansk, Lyman directions
Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this, according to Ukrinform, citing the Military Media Center Telegram channel.
"The enemy is constantly attacking in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions using its most professional units. Every day we repel numerous attacks in these areas. None of our positions have been lost," said Syrskyi.
According to him, "the situation in the Bakhmut direction is very tense, but we are gradually advancing and liberating our lands. The enemy is clinging to every inch, conducting intense artillery and mortar attacks."
"In these conditions, it is very important to make timely management decisions based on the current situation and take measures to maneuver forces and resources, redeploy units and subdivisions to areas where success has been achieved or withdraw them from enemy fire," the commander noted.
According to him, "the main role in this process belongs to the group's headquarters, whose officers are analyzing the situation in many directions, preparing proposals and combat orders for the troops."
"Counter-battery combat is now at the forefront of our actions," the commander emphasized.
Syrskyi added that "to support its troops in the area of
Klishchiivka, Kurdyumivka, Andriivka, the enemy has concentrated a significant amount of artillery, the destruction of which is one of the main tasks for our troops."
As reported, the aviation of the Defense Forces conducted seven strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the Russian troops. One strike was on anti-aircraft missile systems and another on the enemy's control center.
