Russian forces injure 1,080 children in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said this in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"As of the morning of July 28, 2023, more than 1,578 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 498 children were killed and more than 1,080 were injured," the post reads.
These figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them in areas of hostilities and in temporarily captured and liberated territories.
The largest number of children was killed or injured in Donetsk region (482), Kharkiv region (298), Kyiv region (129), Kherson region (116), Zaporizhzhia region (97), Mykolaiv region (95), Dnipropetrovsk region (85), Chernihiv region (71), and Luhansk region (67).
On July 27, a 16-year-old girl was injured by enemy shelling in the Ochakiv district of the Mykolaiv region.
On July 28, two children aged 14 and 17 were injured by a Russian missile strike in the city of Dnipro.
