Another noisy night in Moscow as local authorities report drone attack
This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to Russian mass media and Telegram channels.
According to TASS, there was an “explosion” in the building of IQ-Quarter, located in the downtown Moscow-City district.
"As a result of the explosion on the 5th-6th floor of the 50-storey building on 10s2 Presnenskaya Embankment, the glass exterior was damaged," the agency reported citing a witness.
It is added that no victims were reported and that no fire broke out as a result. At the same time, the IQ-Quarter tower in the Moscow-City district was evacuated after the blast.
Air defense systems reportedly shot down several drones over Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed it was the Ukrainian UAVs that attacked the city.
"Ukrainian drones attacked us tonight. The facades of two City office towers were slightly damaged. There were no victims or casualties," he wrote on Telegram.
It is also known that the authorities shut down air traffic at the Vnukovo Airport just outside Moscow as inbound and outbound flights were diverted to other airports.
As Ukrinform wrote earlier, reports of drone attacks targeting Moscow have recently become more frequent.
