Ukraine’s air defense units destroy 23 Russian Shahed drones overnight

"On the night of August 2, 2023, Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 combat drones. They were launched from three directions – Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation), Chauda (Crimea). The Air Force forces and means, in cooperation with the air defense units of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed 23 combat UAVs," the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

As noted, most of Shahed drones were destroyed in Kyiv and Odesa regions.

"Unfortunately, part of the drones launched by the enemy hit the port infrastructure in Odesa region. Local administrations will report on the consequences of the strike," the Air Force noted.

As reported, the Russians launched drone strikes on the territory of Ukraine simultaneously from several directions last night.
