"Carpathian Sich" fighters remotely blow up FSB office in Rostov

In March this year, the FSB office in Rostov was blown up by members of the Carpathian Sich unit using a mined tube from a used Javelin.

Leader of the Carpathian Sich military unit Taras Deiak said this in an interview with an Ukrinform correspondent.

"This is a typical military story about luck. In short, we somehow took a tube from a Javelin, mined it perfectly, very technically correct, cool, assembled it and brought it to Bakhmut. It was on February 24, midnight - the occupation of Yahidne was underway, we were losing streets, and the commanders were saying on the special communication that today we would withdraw from these positions. We brought there a tube, alcohol and food for the "vanok" (soldiers - ed.) with surprises and left it there. Later, in March, this tube successfully detonated in the FSB office in Rostov," the special forces officer said.

He suggests that, apparently, one of the Russian military or Wagner mercenaries found the tube and handed it over to the commander as a trophy.

"And they, in turn, gave it to their superiors. So the mined tube reached Rostov, where it was opened, and the mechanism was triggered there. We tracked it all the way back using a tracker that our colleagues from Alpha had provided," says Deiak.

According to him, they "threw other such things, mined radios, but only this tube worked."

The FGM-148 Javelin is a man-portable anti-tank missile system manufactured by Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.
