Damaged Olenegorsky Gornyak towed away from its berth in Novorosiisk
That's according to new satellite images of Planet.com service, taken on August 7, Ukrinform reports citing Radio Liberty.
In the image, a Russian warship, damaged by a drone strike on August 4, is seen in the harbor of Novorossiysk, accompanied by two tugs. Previously, it was standing at berth No. 8.
On Monday evening, analysts from the volunteer community InformNapalm suggested, based on the tugboat tracking, that the Olenegorsky Gornyak was moved to a floating dock in another part of the port.
If this dock is suitable for repairing the Olenegorsky Gornyak (according to one version, a dry dock is needed, which is not available in Novorossiysk), then the ship will most likely be repaired for a long time. As an example, the publication cites the Yamal large amphibious assault ship, which was damaged in late 2017 after a collision with a foreign vessel in the Aegean Sea and was repaired only in March 2023.
As reported, in the Novorossiysk Bay, a surface drone damaged the large landing ship Olenegorsky Gornyak, which had about 100 crew members.
