The Russian invaders are trying to protect their ships in the Black Sea in various ways, particularly by using civilian vessels.

This was stated by Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the Joint Press Centre for the Operational Command “South”, Ukrinform reports with reference to Channel 24.

According to her, the strikes by Ukrainian naval drones on the SIG tanker and the Olenegorsky Gornyak large landing ship forced the Russians to disperse their vessels in the waters near Novorossiysk.

"They hide behind the southeastern coast of Crimea for the time being. The main thing that has changed is that they formed a so-called vessel inspection area where civilian vessels are gathered. In fact, they create barrages so as not to be harmed as a result of attacks," Humeniuk said.

According to her, the occupiers understood that similar attacks by naval drones would certainly be repeated.

As reported, a naval drone attacked Olenegorsky Gornyak large landing ship near the port in Novorossiysk on the night of August 4.
