Ukrainian forces achieve success in Urozhaine on southern front – Maliar

Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced this on the air of the United News telethon on Ukrainian TV channels, speaking about the offensive of the Armed Forces in the Melitopol and Berdiansk sectors, Ukrinform repots

"Last week, fighting continued in the village of Urozhaine, there is some success," she said.

Also, according to Maliar, the Armed Forces of Ukraine achieved "certain success" south and southeast of Staromayorske, getting entrenched in certain positions.

However, the deputy defense minister noted that in the south, the Ukrainian forces are facing very strong enemy resistance.

"Overall, the number of shelling attacks in the south and in the east over the past week came to about 10,000 attacks, that is, it is a continuous burst of fire. In addition, the dominant heights are mined. Therefore, our Armed Forces are facing very serious obstacles on their path," Maliar said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on August 9, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko together with three brigades of the Offensive Guard visited the southern sector. According to him, the enemy is putting up resistance, but soldiers of the Offensive Guard as part of the Defense Forces are stubbornly recapturing every piece of Ukrainian land.
