Ukraine’s forces continuing offensive in Melitopol, Berdiansk directions - Command Tavria

That’s according to the joint press center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Ukrinform reports.

"The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk areas. In the direction of Urozhaine, they saw success, getting entrenched at the regained positions, inflicting fire damage with artillery fire on identified enemy targets and engaging in counter-battery battles," the report says.

As noted, over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched four missile stikes and 20 air strikes, conducted 16 combat engagements, and carried out 667 attacks employing tanks, rocket launchers and barrel artillery. There is still a high threat of the enemy launching missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles on military and civilian infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.

According to the press service, in the Avdiivka direction, the Russians launched an airstrike in the Avdiivka area. The settlements of Keramik, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in Donetsk region were hit by Russian artillery.

In the Marinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of Marinka and Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region. An enemy airstrike targeted the Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka districts in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka, Hostre, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka in Donetsk region, came under Russian artillery fire.

On the Shakhtarske axis, enemy airstrikes hit the areas of Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Makarivka, and Urozhaine in Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, Urozhaine, Levadne, and Staromaiorske in Donetsk region, were hit by Russian artillery.

In addition, in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the Russian invasion forces launched an airstrike at Novodanilivka,. More than 20 settlements were affected by enemy artillery shelling, including Malynivka, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Stepnohirsk, and Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region.

The press service also reported that Ukraine’s missile and artillery troops in the Tavria direction performed 1,548 fire missions in the past day. The enemy lost 231 people killed and wounded (66 KIAs, 164 WIAs, and a POW). Twenty-eight units of Russian military equipment were destroyed, including a tank, seven anti-aircraft guns, 10 artillery systems and mortars, an MLRS, two air defense systems, two UAVs, and five military trucks. Also, four ammunition depots and a communication node were destroyed.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, from February 24, 2022 to August 15, 2023 Ukraine’s Defense Forces of eliminated 254,920 Russian invaders, including 540 in the past day.

Also, Ukraine’s forces destroyed 4,313 enemy tanks (+7 in the past day), 8,370 (+16) armored fighting vehicles, 5,128 (+29) artillery systems, 714 (+0) MLR systems, 482 (+3) air defense systems, 315 ( +0) warplanes, 314 (+1) helicopters, 4,242 (+29) operational and tactical-level UAVs, 1,387 (+8) cruise missiles, 18 (+0) warships/cutters, 7,584 ( +22) military trucks and tankers, and 769 (+3) units of specialized equipment.
