Russia transferred bodies of 12 fallen Ukrainian defenders - Coordination HQ
Yuriy Taraniuk, the head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, stated this at a briefing at the Military Media Center, Ukrinform reports.
"As of today, the Russian side has already transferred to us twelve bodies of our POWs, who had been confirmed by the International Committee of the Red Cross as those who were being held captive in Russia. At the same time, there were no reports from Russia either about the deterioration of their health or about their serious condition," Taraniuk said.
According to him, such cases call into question the quality of work or the presence of appropriate medical commissions in Russia.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine is initiating the creation of mixed medical commissions for the exchange of prisoners.
Over the past several weeks, the exchange fund has increased by more than 200 Russian invaders, every fifth of them surrendered voluntarily.
According to Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, 2,598 Ukrainians have already been returned home.
